I'm sorry you're going through this. About a month before my mom passed away, my brother and I went to Chicago to be with her. Her birthday was the following month, but we decided to suprise her and celebrate it early. We were so glad we did because she passed away a week after her birthday and it was the last time we were all together. We also knew it would be her last birthday. I hope you take comfort in knowing your dad will have lived a good, long life. I'm sure it will make him (and all of you) very happy that you all will be together. He will feel so loved. Have a safe trip and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I know this is a tough time. But you know what? Enjoy it. Your dad will love having everyone, and everyone will have time to catch up. It's a lousy occasion, no doubt, but ya'll can and will make it good, I know.
