I better change the subject now - it's painful for some of you!
By the way Afzal, you're right, there is an echo of Yeats there, plus many other things - I won't give them away but I'm surprised no-one got the Beatles one.

Troosha, you're probably right that the naughty stuff dominates!
Myself, I'm not a great fruit or vegetable eater, but that is because i don't like many of them, not because I don't want to. But they look lovely! Especially a bowl of mixed fruit - what could be more colourful? No wonder people used to paint still lives with fruit. This sonnet is really just painting with the colour and the texture of food in a similar way!

As I recall Sonnet 156 was about food temptations as well. Have you got a sugar urge going on over there? Well... you did mention some fruit today but that's not what stood out. I'm eating sushi at the moment but would love something sweet.....

Thanks guys, but there is some healthy fruit in there as well!!
Yes, you're right, El Tel, I have been very hungry the last couple of days. I'm not alone, either. We think it might be the cold spell we're having the last couple of days!

Uh, huh. What is it with you, Mr Zonit, or should one say Sonnet?
All this food obsession! Doesn't anyone feed you, my man? Aha! Methinks I have the answer!
You've become a victim of the anti-fat Nazis, haven't you? Nulli desperandum, and all that!
BTW thank you for your comments.

It's a good thing I had just finished lunch before reading this - I might have gone on a sugar binge. Then again, I probably will anyways.
Be well,
