Hi Avant....
I believe all experiences in our life that we view as negative are surprise gifts if we grow from them. Wonderful post!

If only we would recognise all things as gifts, not always easy. Neat post. And your numbers by the way, 9 fire-3 wood-2 earth. Same as Freud. The first is the soul essence, the second the personality traits and reactive habits, the third the evolution direction. 9 fire is the essence of leader, perfectionist, lover, discriminator. 3 wood personality is symbolisewd by Thunder in the IChing, sudden burst of power, it is the visionary, opportunist, entrepeneur (yet the personality could be deficient in these things and be frustrated, angry, blocked). And the 2 earth evolution tendency is that of the Artist, of doing things with hands, compassion (not love), nurturing, healing. 2 earth is a gentle, maternal energy and is the art of interpersonal relationships, intimacy, sex, the balance of Mars and Venus. How the third number plays out in life is determined by how the personality and soul relate. If ego dominates, the soul is shrouded but if it is integrated, becomes a servant to the soul. In your case, the "visionary" may come to be quiescent and purposeful to the "leader". There's much more to be said, but this is a little intro for you. You can email me jlloyd@earthlink.com.au to ask questions, it helps me as I'm always learning. And this year, you are in a 3 wood year which is for beginnings, awakening, initiative, action. The last two years may have been a bit "slow" in some regards, now is when the thunder happens so to speak. A great year for the personality issues to really integreate.

All gifts may not be welcome, but all are instructional and necessary. Good post.

--Avant I thank you for teaching us how NOT to resist the so-called negatives, but to embrace them as part of our HOLISTIC self! Shalom, Neil

We should say “thank you” to even a negative experience because it is a gift – it teaches us tolerance, provides us with insight, and enriches our capacity to forgive. Great thoughts today, Avant.

Thank you. It's hard to see them that way, until something is done about them.

It is often hard to see the bigger picture, when so many of us are caught in the web of judgment. Thanks.

In few words you have spoken the heart of the matter. That we outwardly consider as bad, and take an immediate decision to shun, you call them gifts. I've not seen a better definition of gift. Veery nice.
