Hi Tony
These delicacies are foreign to me but not your saucy sonnets

All of those options are full of fat Tony :P
But yes I guess a fishcake is the lesser of all of those baddies.

Ah Tony, reminds me of the 6 weeks I stayed in Surrey. Lovely. I would move to England in a trice. MoonSpirit

Tony, there used to be a chip shop on London Road in Sheffield called
A Salt and Battery
Classic.
I'm gonna think up a new one in case you decide to change careers.

Dave - what method of research did you use - Google Chipshop?
To be honest, I don't know. I'll look out for it over the next few days. I suspect it might have the word 'Golden' in it, but am really not sure.

Shadow - no, they don't mix meat and fish, but you could order both and mix
them yourself. It's a takeaway, so you could pretend they were for different people, and then have both!

Fishcakes are soft and a bit mushy, unlike the much more chewy sausages.
Or a pie or pasty. They leave you feeling a bit bloated, whereas a fishcake is the light option - easy on the chewing, easy on the stomach - and a bit healthier.

Tony, is it "Chow's"?
I normally navigate by pubs, so I employed a little help with this one. ( Might be wrong though)

Tony- Anyone who hasn't visited a local fish & chip shop can't have lived
a full life. Here the best ones are Portuguese..hmmmmm. However they never mixed meat(sausages with fish.)

for your collection - I had an Atlantic Salmon fishcake at a restaurant the other night. That was quite a light one, certainly if you compare it with the local chippie I grew up with. They were always so dried out.

Hi everyone - thanks for commenting.
Well I've always thought of a fsishcake as light. Maybe they're not in other parts of the world? Interested in more views on fishcakes.

With my Brit mum, I grew up eating fish cakes of course. Don't know the name of your shop, but I do love your sonnets and your typeface creativity.

Your sonnet reminds me of Five ways in Norwich, close to which my daughter lives, and the corner shop which is a coop selling Croissants fresh from the oven

A fishcake is lighter??
Compared to a sausage maybe. And the world thinks the US owns all the junk food junkies...
