- Go to THE CEILING?
Whacky
I was going to say - you don't paint over dirt because the paint doesn't stick to dirt, but you found out the hard way. Maybe Michelangelo used a longer handle on his roller

Hi
Mistake no 1 - looking at the ceiling. If the paint peels but no one sees it, you don't have to do anything. As for the cobwebs - if anyone comments, ask if they have something against spiders and explain that you're trying to preserve the species.

Your Whackiness...
I know it's too late now, but they make a roller with a gaurd (sort of like a fender) so it doesn't spatter all over. Painting over dirt is bad becasue the dirt can also fall off, along with your fresh paint. A very amusing post indeed, this spring the extra bedroom is slated for a paint job, are you available?

I just painted my old house a couple months ago, Whacky. It has one of
those spackled ceilings. My fiance attempted to paint it and succeeded in knocking down part of the ceiling, so I got a friend of mine to do it (he's a pro). I used to paint houses. The only thing I remember liking about the experience was the drinking afterwards...

Do you remember a song from the 80's
called 'Living on the ceiling' by Blancmange?

Whackydotter & Bo.
Hey luv, you could have saved a lot of trouble for youself by putting a primer on first, and you wouldn't have had to wash it at all. Then you put your colour coat on. No luv, not your coat, -;)the paint colour coat. Blah

What a nice idea,
painting a ceiling blue. Mine are the popcorn ceilings. I can't do much with them. I heard cobwebs are a sign of prosperity from somewhere, like an old wives tale. I don't know who thought of that, but I don't think it's true. Hope you enjoy your pretty blue ceiling

I remember painting that porch I was writing about in my post.
By the end of the day, I looked like Braveheart with all the blue paint all over my face...

Ha! Ha!
I can just imagine the blue freckles. I normally get more paint on me than the walls when trying to paint.

Give Bo a pet for me. Better buy him some moon shoes before you teach him to walk on your ceiling!!

Sorry Bo I did not mean to call you Boo, it is just that your Mama put the fear of G into me talking about painting and cleaning in the winter.

I think you would be a good fun neighbor but I am not sure I could live up to living near you. Down South we are not going to wash, paint or dust the porch ceiling until it is at least a stable 80 degrees for a few weeks. Good post, I just saw Boo tracking blue paint in the hall.
