now that you say this, I am trying to think about how hard it was for my parents - something I negelected to consider and was in denial all along.  Thank you for reminding me.

That's life!
Reading your blog has just made me realize what it must have been like for my mum when my brother and I went away to study then work and eventually marry and live abroad. I wish you all the best. Hang in there.
