I must go back over there to Manchester, I loved that city way back in '55. Me mums sister's house was in Flixton, same town mum was born in. I don't remember if the M6 was even the highway then and I didn't have a car over there. I did drive around in my uncle's 1938 Austin? I think. Whatever it was, it reminded me of a smaller version of a Model A Ford. Love your sonnets my friend.

Yep, good way of dressing up an otherwise dreary drive.
I will miss my N22. The decision-o-meter hand has just swung from Cleveland in the direction of New Jersey again.
Scared sh*tless to drive there.

Am unfamiliar with the geography. Thanks for educating. That's quite a dry comment, but I can't think of anything better with my high fever.

Thanks for the piece. I had done Norwich to Glasgow trip and I can sympathize with you.

Yeah, it's a bummer all right.
I suppose it's the boredom of driving on it so many times rather than anything being wrong with the road itself. I like the forested area near Stoke, and I enjoy driving close to the centre of Birmingham. But it covers a large chunk of the country, apart from the uncivilised south east!

Just goes to show ... it's true, civilization does end north of Watford!
Done my share of trollin' that ghastly road too. Many years ago of course.
