I hope you haven't been - I do agree that fines should be put to the betterment of the community. I'll hold thumbs for you and you hold thumbs for me - my car tends to be a little heavy on the petrol. I carefully watch the mail for a ticket. (Luckily here, the cops also have false signs advertising cameras as a visual detterant.)

If it's like other cities with them......
The cameras are owned by the company that makes them and the city just gets a cut of the proceeds......that's why the pricing is so much higher.......

I read where the red light cameras cause lots of rear end accidents as people slam on the brakes to avoid running the light and the dipwads behind them on cellphones try to drive up their tail pipe.

One more impersonal contact with the human race! We get prompts on the telephone, check yourself out at the store, direct pay at the bank, automatic renewals and more. Pretty soon no one will need people, Oh woe is me, No I would need Bloggers

Here, the fine is $50...I know because an ex of mine once got caught. I don't know how much it is if a cop writes the ticket...I do know, however, that a ticket written by a cop can make your insurance go up, but a red light camera ticket can't. Maybe this is because they can't prove who was driving your car? Anyways, maybe that's why the fine is more expensive, if it's the same way where you live.
