Yes, we did too...
...eat together as a family. No TV was allowed, but the radio was. Many meals were eaten in silence as my father listened to Paul Harvey. Talking was only allowed during commercials. Our laugh-til-you-leave-the-table game also came from my brother. He could quote the Vaughn Meader album "The First Family" with perfect mimicry. If you've never heard the album, it was a huge hit in the 60's and lampooned JFK and family. Yes, families that don't eat together are missing something special. Thanks for sharing your memories and bringing back some of my own.

LOL, we always ate dinner as a family, too.
The only dinner tradition I remember is you couldn't get ice cream until your plate was empty. LOL
