You are right, my friend. Thanks. BTW, I think my job is a double-edged sword. I think about the stuff I've seen, and find myself trying to prevent it from happening to me or my family. That very action attracts it!

I see very clearly what you are saying. I try not to interfere. What an irony it is!

We all have things we are not very proud of. It doesn't make us any worse or better than anyone else. Sometimes, I don't feel as if I were a good parent.

I'm not sure if I have it down, by any means. I try to remember what I do right, and figure out why other things went wrong. It's an evolutionary process.

Sometimes, I think that is a hindrance. I have seen so many things that they replay in my mind and I get very nervous. I have to overcome them with prayers for protection.

My mother was very overprotective. As a result, I lacked self-confidence in many areas. I realize that I must let them explore and take measured risks. I do a lot of praying.

It works wonderfully, if you find out what the currency is. Dr. Phil taught me that.

I can imagine it's hard to watch them and not pull them off that contraption. But, the lessons they learn by you letting them stay are think are much more valuable, even with a bump or bruise. Besides, what are you worried about? You're a paramedic for gosh sakes!

Stopping our kids from taking risks is a way of telling them
we don't think they are capable, should not trust their own enthusiasm or impulses, or ability to manage problems. I know there are some risks we as parents should prevent, but the ones where the consequences of failure are just bruises and tears, those, maybe not so much!

I admire your parenting. I haven't been a good one myself.

Darling picture. Its hard not to worry about our little ones but too much of it can squelch their adventursome spirits.

I know you all had a great time. Being a good parent is the best job in the world. I wasn't as good as my children are as parents. I tried but I did not have the skills they have. You have made this into a fine art. Be blessed.

That is very sweet of you. That climbing frame looks very rusty....
. I also just close my eyes when my kids climb on things... I received an email video not long ago about all the accidents of children falling of swings, slides, climbing frames etc. It can get very stressful watching your kids on these things. I know you must let them have fun but sometimes I do not want them on it..ha ha

I promised the boys I would take them to the park this morning, if they behaved last evening.
This is a very good form of rewarding our kids rather than the old 'corporal punishment.
