OK this made me laugh.

I pay very little attention to politicks these daze...

but the contrast of Bush playing on the white house lawn...

while young men wade through blood and glass and pulverized concrete... at his behest

that was what caught my interest and attention... and my thumbs up attitude.

Thanks all commenters!!
Carl - yes, I agree with you. However, a) Blair seems to back up Bush in everything, not just Iraq, and b) he seems to get little or no respect in return, in terms of benefits for Britain - just meaningless personal flattery. He seems determined to completely remove Britain's independence. he has been a crap negotiator in Europe too. He's not fit to lick Margaret Thatcher's stilettos - and I hated her!

Mr. Blair gets it from Tony of the Sonnet
I know I will be the odd voice out here, but my impression is that Blair actually agrees with Bush rather than being his lapdog.  He certainly takes a political hit for the Iraqi peacekeeping effort with no corresponding benefit other than the sense that he is doing the right thing.  Compare this to the French government, which was jumping hoops for Saddam and his oil.
