Hi Kabu - I used to find it impossible to do my homework
when of school age if the TV was on in the other room. I'd always sit their listening to it instead. I'm getting better at concentrating, slowly...

Hi Tony
You got me thinking. I'll have to see whether I too can take up the challenge to test my mental ability.

Hi Neil - yes, you're right. It never occurred to me to stick to those
themes because the sonnet was just the format for writing a blog about anything i felt like. I think modern sonnets can be about anything. Carry on with your own, they've been very good!

Hi Joaohnna - the timing of the background music can be frustrating.
Yesterday a neighbour came in with a door slam and put on music just as I sat down to write a poem for a competition. How do they know?

If the music appeals to me I interact w/ it. Otherwise, I could write write
--YOu have made sonnets more accesible by taking it away from the classical (LOVE AND DEATH) themes. I have thus been inspired to begin writing my own sonnets, though my stressed and unstressed syllables are not ever in perfect iambic pentameter. HELLLLLpppp!

Pooh had a similar problem
He couldn't complete a thought because he was being bounced against the stairs when Christopher Robin was carrying him by his feet.
Your poem reminded me of A. A. Milne's.

Good Job Tony
ah yes, for me it is teens with heavy metal. I enjoy it, but it is distracting when trying to write.
The neat thing is, how the distraction played through into the words you put down and even the font.
it is all there. cool.

Writing and Music
Lovely work. I so admire those who can write, poetry, sonnets, etc. For a long time, I couldn't write with background, 'noise', either. I think there were too many other things going on in my life and I had to clear them out. Now that I have, I love writing certain kinds of scenes to music and it really helps me. Thanks for the opportunity to read you!
