sometimes the dishwasher drain gets clogged with bits of food and just need to be flushed out (I found some paper in mine once from a label that was on a jar I had washed). Check around the bottom and see if you can feel anything that is blocking the drain. If you have to buy a new one I always buy Maytag, they last forever.

LMAO...dishwasher indigestion! Mine is a good old G.E. I've always had decent luck with that brand of just about anything. It's not top of the line by any means...but it never gets indigestion! XO to you and Bo!

The best brand is the male species as it doubles up as a bedwarmer too.

First (and don't ask how I know this) do not put paper plates in the dishwasher! N'kay? Nuff said. Now onto serious stuff. The absolute best and quietest by far are the top end Bosch models, but they are not cheap. The cool thing is, they don't use a fan or heating element to dry. They are actually quiet enough that sometimes you won't be sure they are running. But at $900 or so, they had better be. Also, the buttons are mounted on top of the door so kids aren't as likely to turn it on accidentally. I'm quite sure there are good ones for much less, I would check out consumer reports on that kind of stuff, or Epinions.com.
Happy washing.
