I want my children to carry on my name (which they do). If my wife (or any potential future wife or 'consort') wants to keep, refurbish, change completely, rent out or otherwise deal with her name or names is immaterial to me.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly.....with the, 'onslaught' of new growth in Spring, also comes strange blights. Tax season shall be over soon enough. As for names, I think I'd like to make up my own name. Not my father's. Not my whomever my husband will be in the future. (And I do believe in marriage) But a name of my own choosing.
