Keep on tryig and you WILL succeed. JenniferHudson was kicked off IDOL, but went on to win an Academy Award for Dream Girls. If she can do it, so can you. Keep on pushing.

You're right, Bhaskar - I'm thinking of doing a low-brow comic novel next!
There's very little opportunity in poetry.

Tony, these publishers, called cubs, to rhyme with pubs, are unable to
see quality. They've said no to me. So now the solution is to lower the standards for them to comptrehend. It's a secret I am letting out. Haha

El tel - donde estas?
I've forgotten how to do past tense in Spanish! Donde estaba? Sheesh, it's a long time since I studied! Or, translated into your own lingo - Oy, Tel, where've you been, me ole china?

Oh yeah, that's right, Enigmatic - I knew it was some acronym
but couldn't remember what. The lyrics reminded me of the tune, though. And reminded me of when I was a student, listening to that album with friends, stoned, immaculate.

Many thanks, Snubnose - great name.
You're right - we need to motivate ourselves in exactly that way!

Drohan, I bet you're a great writer in Arabic - you're very good in
English, too. I can't imagine writing in any other language than English. I could try in Spanish or French, maybe, but it would be full of linguistic error. I could get my daughter to check any French sonnet - she is studying French.

Yeah Pelagus, you're not wrong!
It's not too upsetting, it's early days yet. We all need to have more than one iron in the fire - that helps to keep our hops alive. Or even our hopes.

Thanks Najwa, you are very kind.
I hope I can overcome my natural laziness, and apply to some more publishers. I've only applied to two so far, and they both showed some interest, so I can take heart from that! Thanks again.

Thanks for your support, Proc.
I haven't got a slip, but I could print out the email and frame it and put it above the toilet where it belongs!

Tony - to quote one of your own, "Never surrrender!"

And by the way, many of those lyrics did come from the L.A. Woman album - the song the lyrics came from is, "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)."

true and lovely poem reflect condition of most good poets and writers ..but our solace is that all the famous poets they did suffer.... so still there is hope my friend ..we have to dig the roads to be able to reach... to climb the mountain ..i do not want to publish now i want to write in a news paper but i don't know where are the smart people who are able to search and to discover new faces new pens ..no one care ,so some time and may be i will do that i will go to one editor one day and i will say to him i have to write here because if you will not allow me to write then you will feel sorry later that you lost me of course i want to publish in arabic first ..and always i say to my friends and others one day when i will be asked who supported me i will remember who was there beside me when no one dare ...yes i will say because i'm sure from that day which will come very soon

This whole rejection thing is a real crock..I hope you keep your slips.
An aquantaince kept all his rejection slips and used them as wallpaper in the toilet. Thats what he thought of all those ignorant publishers. Keep at it Tonyzonit. You will meet someone who will want to take a chance on you.
