You are so right. Our imaginations as readers do take on personal meaning. I've had a difficult year, yes, so that was in the forefront of my read. Now that you explain it I feel so much better. But should I? Hurricanes are nothing to sneeze at, either. Very good thought-inducing work.

Hehe,you can understand that line in so many ways.

A hard lesson from Mother Earth could be for example, a hurricane,earthquakes,erupting vulcanos but also smaller things like a bee that stings you,clouds that throw down their rain,a tree that loses its fruit and it gets rotten before you can taste nature's delight..etc.

It could be so many things and doesn't have to be something terrible.Let's just say ,you fill the meaning in with your own imagination.When I was writing that poem I was thinking of a heavy rain that really drenched me and winds that tore me down,for me it was a hard hit but was good for me ,because I felt good getting struck by so much power...Anyway ,good thing of you noticing that.Hope your versions weren't to hard ,like as having to lose someone dear to you,or having a terrible disease or something.What I mean actually ; I wish you all the best!!!And thank you for your comment!
