majroj, one of the young guys on my staff
has been very adamant about getting a lawyer. I've resisted, because I think lawyers cost everybody money and nobody wins. Have you had a different experience?

Definitely get a lawyer in on this

They blindsided you, caused damage to your livelihood through unsolicited work to the premises, raised your rent for said work...on an on. They might chase you for the money they think is owed them.

They might have actually done this in "good faith", being architect-wonks, but it sounds like they might pull a reprise even if things were ironed out. They may have run you out, but "some games are better lost, and others not played at all".

Ah landlords...
I used to be a landlady; it was interesting work, but an awful lot of work, and to be honest, I was very relieved to give it up. Sounds like the one you got stuck with is a real jerk, I hope you give him whatfor, and sue him for the damages to your equipment.
