Not only is this post funny, but it is all too true... to a degree. These
women are exceptions, except for the "I'm the best mother in the world" attitude, which seems to get worse as the number of children increase. This apparently is their license to feign expertise in an area where they've only had limited experience. I'm a single-parent father who has not only seen the condescending know-it-all mothers but has also suffered the pitiable comments and forced advice of many women with regard to my parenting situation. Some, I'm sure, were well-intentioned. Most were pathetic and didn't have a clue. Remember, there's a reason the word 'mother' makes up most of the word 'smother'.
And don't get me wrong, I love my mother and many other mothers, including my fiancee, mother of two strapping ingrates. I beleive mothering is a terribly difficult job as well as a terrible responsibility. But the mothers of which you speak, Toby, I have little respect for...

Re: What's So Special About Mothers
As a rule Mother's are special, but of course there are acceptions to every rule. I just try to treat all of them special until I see one treat their kids in such a way that I know they don't deserve my respect. Then I so far as I am concerned they're nothing but trash. A great post that you have here.

I guess mothers are special because they give birth,
other than that, they are also special because... hm, wait let me think... hm.... so...
anyways.
