My Mom did all her sewing on one of those sewing machines. There are no more talented home sewers. I taught classes back in the 70s on pattern rearrangement and fitting and it came clear to so many that they did not have to follow their patterns exactly. You were probably the best dressed girls in school. And that for a very low cost.

My Mom had a real knack for all three. Of course, she had a lot of practice, sewing for six daughters on her pedal Singer Sewing Machine.

Three things that make supurb garments: Great piecegoods, perfect fit and pattern matching. I am seeing expensive ready to wear now with stripes off center all sorts of mismatched junk. I miss beautiful clothing. Thank you for reading.
