Chris, yes, we teach them and tell them, but as you say, we have to let

go and trust some of what we've tried to say has sunk in..

.amazingly, we usually find out it did....

Troosha-thank you so much! Yes-I do remember those times and it is so scarey out there now! My G.children come from an area that has already had horrendous experiences and it makes me even more concerned for their safety! Or-ANY CHILD'S SAFETY-whatever the area!! I remeber a couple of years ago-when they were out in the car with me-and 'we' practiced screaming at the top of our voices!I had to do it first-I'm sure they thought I had 'lost it' but at the w/e-they proved their voices are even stronger!! Great!!Chris.

Remember times when we would simply walk to the corner store on our own or ride our bikes around the neighbourhood. Now we have to watch small children so closely and "keep them on a shorter leash" because of all the freaks out there. An unfortunate message but beautifully said.
