How funny.
My dog doubles as a vacuum, too (without complain.)

Whacky, our one cat, Sam, would make a good lawyer..he never shuts up
he butts into every conversation with a chorus of meows, mews, and assorted other cat lingo...we debate with him at times, but he always has the last word....the other cat, Mickey, only communicates with body language.....

They talk--- oh how they talk

Some are persnickety little buggers, some are eloquent, some are blunt, some are shy, some are loud, some are quiet......

But they all talk and I talk to them all. Who needs words to communicate all the time???

Duncan, my cat, tells me every night how much le loves me by throwing himself across my head and then curling around it.

Griffyn -- my dog, tells me he loves me every few hours by doing his little dance and prance and then looking for me and only me.

Bram-- B's cat tells us he loves us by nuzzling me underneath my glasses.

Ash- B's cat tells us he loves us by accepting all the kittens we bring home

The kittens talk all the time!!!!!

I know I am in the minority, but I actually believe that

animals can understand a great deal of our human language. My cats have proven this to me on several occasions. And of course they talk!! I can usually tell what they are saying to me.

This though, made me ROFL and I nearly choked--"With Bo around, who needs napkins? He is a big furry brown napkin. He also doubles as a vacuum that only sucks up food..." I have a napkin/vacuum here too, my cat Rocky.

I think you're right, animals do communicate.  We don't have animals here, only a bunny in the garden, but he doesn't listen to me or Momma, he eats the lettuce anyway.

I've carried lengthy conversations with animals,
especially my dogs, all my life.

It takes a certain kind of person to understand animals
just as it takes a certain kind of person to understand babies. once you have cracked the code life is infinitely more interesting.

I believe that animals communicate with us. Our dog Lucy adored my hubby

and knew she had him wrapped around her paws.  She wasnt allowed in the house all the time but if I had sent her out she would wait for him to come home and sneak in at the same time sidling in next to him and giving me a sly look as if to say " Im in and you cant do anything about it"

She had a pup Max and when he was  about a year old he was run over.  Ive never seen grief in a dog until Max died.  As a mum I felt her pain.

I am enthralled with how much "talking" Pitiful does.  She is very ingenious at letting me know exactly what she wants or does not want.  She leaves no question about it whatsoever.  Also, she knows exactly what I am saying to her and responds accordingly.  Its uncanny.

My cat Bubbles talks a lot. As a matter of fact, her vocabulary is bigger than mine...
