Doll,
I may have read a book by John O'Farrell (if he is the author of "The last hard men.") It is about a retired sheriff whose daughter is kidnapped, around 1910. Probably a different author. Tony Parsons, doesn't ring a bell at all. I'll remember their names and check them out. Thanks, Guy

It can be "dead hard" being a man for many reasons! Being more honest - with women is usually regarded as endearing, and a strength. It is a shame many men cannot do this. I love Tony Parsons books and John O'Farrell because both of these authors are witty and able to be open. Their popularity with men and women tells us something.
