FactorFiction, kind thoughts and reminiscences like this are a comfort--
So easy to isolate as a coping strategy, and to spare others one's own pain--and the process of sorting it out internally. It helps keep a wholesome perspective.
The Hidden Planetarium-- he would have chuckled! I'll share this one with my mom and sister.
Thanks!
Have you seen Whysper's latest? He recently lost his mother, and wrote a beautiful eulogy.

I loved your last couple of posts about your Dad, although I am sorry you have lost him.
I am afraid I have been to the Hayden many more times for the laser light show than for the planetarium.
I did spend my teenage years a 15 minute drive away!
Nevertheless, the planetarium part was great to have growing up also! (As a child I thought it was the Hidden Planetarium...)

Hangin' in there, majroj--
Had an interesting moment when I called my mom, got the messaging, and it was my dad's voice. I took some time to process that--cried some, healed some-- and I hope she won't change it.

Wacky & Bo, majroj, and Decshak, thanks for your responses here--
I have not been in the blogiting mood of late much, but finding your good wishes and caring here reminds me why not to isolate in times of stress. Much appreciated, truly!

Taps, I will see about posting a photo--NYTmes ran one of him in
the 1950s when he was one of the pioneers of radio astronomy. They say he looked cherubic--must have been the only photo they had...

I missed this post. My sympathies in the passing of your father. He sounds like a very interesting man. I love the information you have given us here about him. All that is missing is a picture.
