Thanks TAPS - yes, at university. I liked it - I studied Spanish at school
and so was familiar with the setting.

Antonionio

What good reasoning for getting out of having to serenade.

for the correct author.  Have you read the book?

Shared music taste is a great common ground.
I wish you continued success and good fortune there.

Ha ha - thanks, Notapoet. Same here - a shared taste in music was
the best I could hope for. I've been lucky to have achieved that! Nothing to do with my voice!

Ahhh, I'm not the only one who realizes
he'll never make the Top 40.  Or in my case, the Top 100, Top 1,000, or anywhere in the Top 100,000 or so.  My solution, when courting, was to work my ass off so I could buy my lady the records.  It was far better than scaring them away with my singing voice.

True, Mariaki!

Oh dear!
not very romantic but probably quite practical under the described circumstances

Hi Sannhet! How about us forming a group with some dogs?

posted by Antonionioni on July 12, 2007 at 12:50 AM | link to this | reply

Hi Proc - yes, I can't deny that on this occasion!

posted by Antonionioni on July 12, 2007 at 12:45 AM | link to this | reply

Hi Dark Mistress - mind you, I could form a vocal group with the dogs!

posted by Antonionioni on July 12, 2007 at 12:44 AM | link to this | reply

Hee hee - no, it wouldn't, Kabu - she'd throw things thru the window at me!

Tony -
Obviously, you're heard me serenading before, because your description definitely fits me!

posted by sannhet on July 11, 2007 at 8:49 PM | link to this | reply

LOL,you have a way of taking the romance out of being romantic. Toooony..

posted by proc on July 11, 2007 at 6:32 PM | link to this | reply

hmmmm....I'm thinking that perhaps in your voice causes the dogs to
moan it might be a good idea that you haven't tried to serenade her

No Antoniodontsingio it doesn't sound as though it would win the fair
maiden somehow.LOL

Hi Durbs - yes, it would be good.
But let's enjoy the fact that we have potential trips to visit friends from all over the world, thanks to Blogit. Your pet's not looking too good. I think he needs feeding...

Thanks so much, Maryaryary!
It's an unusual one for me, but it's how I'm feeling today. I'm nearly free now to go and strum!

Hi Troosha - absolutely!
It was written out of a combination of love for my wife after a good few days together, and an intention to write another song about music! As usual, it had to be somewhat comical in nature!

Hi Pelagus! I appreciate it!

posted by Antonionioni on July 11, 2007 at 12:01 PM | link to this | reply

Take Troosha's advice, Antonio. Si Si, es verdad. Many ways to serenade &

remain a thoughful neighbor! I'd love to be your neighbor, then I could also stop by for guitar lessons. ShalomfromDurbs!

Antonio-yo-yo - That is so sweet. So human. So telling. What a lovely
heart you have.  Well done!

Tony
Oh, but there are so many other ways to "serenade" your love.  Another tell-it-like-it-is sonnet.
