What a memory jog!
I was stationed in Orleans for about six months and made it to Paris a few times.  Loved walking along the rivers and hitting the little jazz clubs with the locals.  Spent one of the most memorable New Years' of my life in Paris right before being transferred out of this wonderful land of beautiful countryside, and women.  Great wine and food, too.  Thanks for making it all fresh in my mind again.

Ha, ha, ha, couldn't help myself had to come and look at your 'frogs and bridges' post.  Are you calling me an amphibian?    Je l'aime beaucoup!  Bon, mon ami!

Hi Proc - they should tow New Zealand a bit nearer to everywhere else!
Mind you, I suppose it's about half way between Europe and the States - only several thousand miles apart from either!

Hello Drohan, good morning! That's nice - I can't think which song you
mean, but I hope it brought you pleasant memories!

Hey PROC - That is the only thing about New Zealand it is sooo far from any
destination that it just makes flights more expensive and the time it takes to get there is absurd. I'm living in Auckland and can handle it, not sure how long though. I dream of England and Australia and Paris often....

That was awesome, thanks for this sonnet. France is great. I went to see
Jim Morrison's grave, which had always been a life long dream. I didn't want to leave paris, and the woman....well, we should stop hear me thinks!!

Hi DreamC - I'm so pleased - yes, the musical sound is down to the sonnet

Excellent Tony. Since we've had our Keswick retreat, it's the only place we go, but prior to that we were Francophiles going over 3 or 4 times a year. We've stayed in the Latin Quarter many times and have travelled extensively throughout this beautiful country. If we hadn't invested in Keswick, we may well have bought a place in France. We may still do if my business continues to grow and - crossed fingers - some publishing pays off one day.

However, to the point, your poem makes me hanker after the place... ooh la la.
