OTA...
I was happy to shed some light, thanks for reading.  You are correct about my parents, they were quite amazing throughout the course of my life and I can't imagine how I might have wound up without them.

Alf

Thank you for explaining such a personal thing in such a way that is helpful to all of us. I can fully relate to your story and your truth. How wonderful that your parents could help you disengage from that preoccupation of death to the acknowledgment of death being a part of life. They must have ben struggling themselves a bit to understand what was going on in their midst. Brave Heart is one of my favorite films  and you have added another dimension to it for me after reading this piece. I was always struck by the absolute determination of the lead character to avenge his Scotland as part of his avenging his murdered wife. Like him, you battled death.. and have come out victorious on the other side of the valley of death.  As Chrylann commented.. BRAVO!!!!! to you and yours. ~Peace, OTA

 Bravo
