Whacky, I think I'm the only one left in my family (inclding my sister and
her husband in London, Ont) who still uses sugar,,thie new stevia seems pretty good..we've been using it a couple of weeks now, off and on..

I love splenda and use it in about everything except baking..It doesn't have the bad after taste...

I think (or know) I’m somewhat older than you and we all grew up on sugar and more sugar. Unless I’m missing something we boomers turned out just fine. I’ve never explored substitutions but as I get older than damn expression “everything in moderation” keeps popping up.

I try not to put sugar in my coffee unless it's flavoured and needs plain creamer...If I do use it though, I use pure sugar. Those substitutes are down right nasty!

I'll go with whiskey, too! I don't like the taste of "Nutrasweet" and I didn't like the taste of saccharin (sp?) - besides, it gave me, "the runs!"
