- Go to Telemarketers Hang Themselves!
Capt Gage--
If it makes you feel any better, I actually like getting called by market research people, so long as I feel like my opinion is going to matter. So, for example, I like to play "tell us your favorite song" for the radio researchers and "tell us what you think of this product." I hate when advertisers want to know if I've seen their advertisements. I don't think this helps me at all.

You're absolutely right!
It is rude to insist on calling someone who doesn't want to be called. That's why I'm struggling so hard to get a non-phone job. Not that I'm in telemarketing anymore, but I am in market research, and we call people on the phone to do it. And get this: so many of them on the Don't Call Registry never read about it close enough to know that it only applies to sales people and not market researchers. Still, I hate calling anyone who doesn't want to be called for any reason, and I don't want to be called either. So my days in phone work are short one way or another if I can help it.
BTW: I found your blog under telemarketing in a search because I'm gonna write a blog about it.
