proc, I have nothing against research-aiding libations that are dry, as in dry wine, dry champers, etc...

A little nibble on the neck, what the heck. But West Nile isn't the only
unhappy result of responding to the mating call.. There's swelling, pain, followed by 20 years of obligation, aggravation, worry. Which, of course, amps up when the offspring discover the joys of the whine or is that wine, women and song... Hiya gramps!

We have had two deaths within 15 miles of where I live in the last two weeks from West Nile Virus so we aren't happy with the high Mosquito population we have here.

Well, there are over 2500 varieties of those monsters, but only very few who carry malaria! And they make good food for some birds...

Re: Usually females whining has the opposite effect!
Citusa, you didn't have mosquitos in Ireland? Where they driven out by St. Patrick, together with the snakes?
And I know what you mean by female whining. I find it repelling rather than attractive, though I do make exceptions in special cases, especially when it's combined with cringeing...

Usually females whining has the opposite effect!
I got my first mosquito bite two weeks ago, thought it wasn't a big deal, none of the swelling and discomfort people were on about.
But, I scratched it a couple of days ago, and it's swollen up a bit. I also got bitten on my right butt cheek for having worn a billowy summer dress.
I'm doing some whining of my own right now.
