Well, when I was a kid, we always had this big, late Sunday breakfast, more like a brunch, actually. It was always set up in the dining room. I remember the occasion, on a fine, sunny mid-morning, when we walked in and found our terrier 'Flip' seated in the center of the dining room table, munching on a sausage! And he took it along as he fled...

Maybe you could make a game of hiding the bones so he has to work to find
find them--he'd probably love the game as much as he does the 'help-myself-to-bones' game.
