Nothing is going on, Matie. It's misdirection. Bush is working on damage
control so that he will not end up the most hated president in history, which is saying something, considering the way people felt about Lincoln, Grant, and Hoover (and some still do).

This post makes me wonder
WTF is going on?
Surrealistic.

Yeah, it's what's become the cliche of the day in Washington -- "political
theatre," Mademoiselle. Rove is a viable target for anyone with anything against the current administration. With him "gone", I'm sure they beleive that this will somehow put some buoyancy back into the Bush presidency (and it might, for the true beleivers and those in irresversible denial).
Tom Tandredo is that buzz word, politically incorrect congressman from Colorado who doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning the presidency. He's got a few good ideas but he doesn't understand the niceties of politics. You can think about bombing Mecca. You can even talk about it in quiet little circles which lend themselves to deniability. But you don't ever state publicly that you will bomb the number one religious sight in Islam. Does he want a world war? I mean, before Bush invades Iran and starts one anyway?

It is amazing how he scares the left, Corbin. But there is no way that a
man of such political power is going to step aside; no more than Bill Clinton or George H.W. Bush has done. No, we haven't seen the last of Rove. And I do not say this out of fear (I'm not a leftist), but out of observing human nature. Besides, as I've stated before, his particular brand of genius is needed by the Republican Party to salvage as much as it can in the upcoming election.

Yeah, I don't see what the point of resigning at this late date would be, anyways.
(Even if it was legit.)
I mean, that would be like the captain of the Titanic saying, as the water fills the cabin, "Okay, I've decided to call it a career."
P.S. Tom Tancredo?
"Temporarily out of service."

No, RaeS, his political manipulatory powers are much too much needed
in that theoconservative swirling sesspool we call the White House. Not only that, Rove's brilliant political strategisms are going to be needed for the Republicans to pull off a win in the next presidential election.

No doubt, kingmi, that Rove has simply recused himself from a more
visible role in politics -- the better to run things with less interference. And let's hope to the highest power of anyone's universe that Karl Rove never dances or sings again -- at least in public to be caught on video. That still hurts my brain...

saul_relative, they poisoned Rasputin, stabbed him countless times,
Wrapped him in chains an dropped him in the river (Volga?). But he survived to love again. Maybe Karl Rove, one of nature's true lovers, will dance again!
