I've lived with it for a long time :) There's wear and tear there and I had a nasty slip-and-fall about ten years ago, at a water-park. The following year I noticed they had re-surfaced the manmade beach.

You need to be careful of that back. Once injured it give trouble for a long, long time. It happened to me once when I was in my 40's just because I bent kind of sideways to lift something.

Hi mneme. In your sidebar you state 'not exactly a mid-life crisis.' I've just finished reading the previous posts, and I would reckon it is more than a mid-life crisis. To me it sounds like a dangerous mid-life crisis. Be careful.

Guys (Bhaskar excepted)
- I didn't mean to exclude you... a less girly topic next time. Bhaskar made a brilliant pun.

Had they been my skinny tight jeans, I'd have fitted the image better.

That's true. I'm not sure I would class today's visit to the chiropractor as pampering, at least not the trigger-point therapy massage. I never knew I hurt so much :)

Ever since my husband (a sensitive soul) grumbled about the fact that he pays for my manicure, pedicure and hairdresser after I stopped work last year, I have kept up with the nails, gone less as often for a pedicure and let my hair grow, losing its blonde highlights and showing the grey. It's reverted to my girlhood "kink and curl" and I rather like it.

it's not the click-clacking, it's the gap next to the cuticles that tells me it's time to go :)

I love to go have my nails done and always know when it's time....they
click clack on the key board and annoy me.

mneme - I don't always feel like talking at the salon, either. I must go
go in. Need a pedicure, manicure and my hair done. All in good time. I really like French manicures, too.

mneme, its always good to do something for you alone when you are
feeling down. We women so need pampering.

Bhaskar - Good pun !
Oops - sorry... the jeans comment was meant to be ironic, since I'd spent all afternoon putting furniture together and wasn't particularly dressed up. Nice to see you.
