Julia, you were one of the first on blogit to visit my blog and to offer
me encouragement. Therefore and because you are such a lovely person I will think of you often, with a warm glow of love. I am sad that people like you and Wiley and irish and others have felt they must leave now. I feel without some of you that this isn't going to be the place for me to continue to write. Time will tell.

Awwww, hell....
Julia, I have to say a few things. First, I will miss your writings, your comments, your candor, your wry observations. You are very talented and I appreciate and enjoy talented folks.
I have not been around much during all of this, for a number of reasons, the most obvious being preparations for my wedding. But I will say this.
I agree, plagiarism is wrong; it is, in fact, the biggie, the go-to-hell sin for anyone who dares to don the label of writer.
Also, a note on forgiveness. Too many people seem to confuse forgiveness with absolution. But forgiveness is not absolution. It is merely recognition of someone's self-confessed wrong and a starting point for an attempt at renewal.
I could go far into the details as to why plagiarism is so offensive to me, but I won't today. Suffice it to instead leave an aphorism my grandfather was fond of using:
"Right is right if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong if everybody's doing it."
