Many thanks, Spencer! Do you mean as parent, or school-going child?

Thanks a lot Neil - another name change while I was away?
Is your latest theme Deutschland, by any chance? I'll pop over and see what's going on... Well-spotted that it's a year of sonnets. I would normally have talked about that today, but my daughter's starting school had to be covered - too important to ignore! Maybe tomorrow i will talk about my first anniversary as a sonnetteer..!

Hi Chris - my wife took her on the big first day - I'll be taking her on
the third and fourth days. The big day is the first, of course, but I'm looking forward to the much less scary 3rd and 4th days!

What better theme Tony! 1 of my 2 daughters was special needs- even daycare
was heart-wrenching for me. At 30 months, I left her less than an hour and went back in tears to get her. I stayed home that day! Your last lines do remind us that OUR JOB is to make them independent. We raise them to leave us---if only to return stronger and independent. Lovely....and a years worth of SONNETS! Brava...I'll come back with your gift.

Yes, Troosha - altho really it's the first of many such lettings - go of
our kids. In J's case, not even the first; she started at nursery / kindergarten when only about 4 months old!

Tony
It
is a significant turning point, isn't it - that first day of school, that is. How true that peers seep into the attitudes and morality of our children and we can only hope that we have taught our lessons well because peers are a force to be reckoned with.
