FreeManWalking, sorry I missed your reply to maroj until now.
And fresh Christmas trees, little electric tree lights that bubbled up through glass "candles", real turkeys with the stuffing cooked inside, and no "Xmas bags", just many inexpertly but lovingly wrapped presents.
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas.

Wow, Man, you have a terrific way of drawing
one into your world. I am with you, getting eaten by ticks, warily eyeballing big wasp nests, drinking cold beer and watching some gunslinger tear up a stratocaster -- it's a great ride.
You do good work, Freeman. These vignettes will work into a way cool -- and I believe marketable -- whole one day.

I'm with TAPS. Can I hire you to ghost write the blog on my web site (which is finally up and running!)? Channel an irritable middle-aged female who's just gone back to school and feels totally overwhelmed.

I just love your posts. I like it when they ramble from one thing to another. I always see something that I need to google and learn more about it. This time it was "slave walls". How interesting. Also you made my mind wander to the good old days and I wondered if, as a young fellow, you had used your knife interest in playing mumbly peg. I always hated it when the neighborhood boys wouldn't let me play because I had nothing better to play with than one of mom's paring knives that I had confiscated when she wasn't looking.

Don't forget B-52 contrails, jeans that got worn out and stained for real.
The only guys that screwed the tops off beer by hand were bouncers, blacksmiths and desperate alkys!
Metal and glass, not plastic.
Regular and Ethyl...period.
Vinyl, not tape, CD, or download.
Snaps, not Velcro.
And the movies were mostly PG. Before there WAS a "PG".
