Tony
Although "celebrity news" has never much interested me in the case of OJ I think many will be watching these developments closely in the hopes that someone throws the book at him.

Thanks, commenters!
Yes, celebrity and reality TV is all-consuming now. Its in mags and papers too. It's either celebrities, focussing of course on the most laughable or hateable ones, or else its people doing whatever they're told to do in order to hopefully become a celebrity, without having any talent to speak of apart from self-obsession. I nearly said self-love, but there are many celebs who clearly don't love everything about themselves, but they are nearly always self-obsessed, often with their own flaws. What's more, they get financially rewarded for droning on endlessly about those flaws, real or perceived, even though weve all got them and there's nothing out of the ordinary about them. I try to avoid it as much as poss but my wife buys several celeb mags a week!

Well, one way of becoming ultra famous today is to become notorious for
bad behaviour. How many people actually remember what OJ was originally famous for.

Celebrity
Mind if I vent? First, your post is great! This is not aimed at you in any way, shape or form. Just my spleen spilling over. Usually my opinions come out in my poetry with a more balanced approach than the following rant. You just pushed a button.
I am totally fed up with the amount of press wrong-doing celebrities (and politicians) get and the things they seem to get away with. What's his name with the dog fighting, what's her name with the dui's, this one, that one. Why do they get away with it? Because we let them! Why are they held to a different standard? Because we allow it. We are a society that would rather focus on the fantasies that they sell than the realities of our lives. That person they killed, or could have killed, those animals they've horribly maimed and killed. Hey, its just more movie drama. If the guy down the street did that. We'd lose some sleep, maybe even be moved to do something. Let's glamorize the celebrities and move on to the next drama. Better than facing the truth in their lives or ours. When the majority stands up and says enough and means it and proves it with harsher penalties... Oops. Sorry. But your post did elicit a response. Maybe longer than expected. Not AmMused.

well I for one hate the fact that celebrities dominate the media
like what they do has any bearing on anyone's lives. It's nothing but a distraction. ANYWAY, GOOD POST!
