I've been to Tucumcari. Fascinating place. The last thing I remember eating there was sopapillas and the last thing I remember seeing was a large field of cholla tree cactus. We stopped and tried to walk among them to take a picture or two. Not a good idea. A spike from a dead one on the ground went through my sneaker.
