Hi everyone - thanks for reading!
If you don't mind, I'll move straight on to the next post. PS: Rich, I read your old piece. Thanks.

Tony, there's nothing like train travel, and there's always a show of sorts
going on...the monotonous thrm of the wheels sometimes put me to sleep and other times it was just an annoying "noise" (go figure..
.)

I love the way your sonnets give me a "feel" for another world. I rode trains from the time I was six....and I'm pretty old!....when people still actually dressed up to go on them, just like planes.....and then rode them in my 20's, when things had changed a lot....I've been on AmTrak since then....and I've been on the elevated train in Chicago....and a subway in Caracas....but, my dream is the Orient Express. My son-in-law is a train engineer. I wish we had more passenger rail systems here in the US as I think it would help with a lot of problems we have.

I've travelled the "tube" and Montreal's subway system as well. I dunno - it just kind of gives me the creeps and I'm always so glad when I reach my stop.

Hi Tony-I get quite claustrophobic on the tube train! Glad you're safely
back! Chris.

I have rode AmTrak here in the U.S., Antonionioni. I must say that it is
an enjoyable experience, except for the people. Watching passing scenery and the occasional distraction aboard is great, but the nastiness of unwashed and ill-mannered people certainly subtracts from the romance of the rails...
