I love the 'like an early Christmas present' part. Isn't it serum inside the blister? It sounds good anyway.

That's why I don't do any gardening!
My hands don't fit into my wife's gardening gloves!

My ex-wife used to like popping the blackheads on my face, even though it
really hurt. But I had little choice in the matter.

aahhhhhh I hate blisters...this spring when I was working in my yard
I gave myself a monster of a blister on the palm of my left hand, plus my shirt kept riding up and got me a nasty little sunburn. The weirdest sunburn I ever got-it was a 2-inch stripe along the waistband of my pants. My sister told me that it's the kind of sunburn that only I could get. hahaha

LOL...I dunno, Whacky! When I was a little girl, I used to have to wear these awful leg braces that were made from metal. They had a bar at the bottom and I had to wear them to bed every night because of a surgery I'd had.
Well, I got this blister from them, and it was the doggone ugliest thing you ever did see! It was a huge black and yellow thing...
It never popped, but one day while I was in physical therapy, I was taking my socks off and the thing just fell off! But it left me something to remember it by...
A small dent in my left heel!...
I still have the dent! Hope your hand feels better soon!

Whacky, I have done that several times..we have huge oak trees in my yard that carpet the lawn with leaves every fall. The risk of infection goes up if you pop a blister.. so I always try to not pop them.. but like you.. I usually dont notice the blister until it is too late.. sigh.. and they hurt.. ouch

.. I hope that your hand heals quickly

you've got sensitive skin. The constant friction between your hands on the handle of the rake caused the blister. Wearing a glove might solve the problem.Take care.
