Max--I really believe that there is 'something' within us that 'chooses' to
be alone-or with others-physically.I don't believe the Soul dries up at all--simply owing to isolation! If we're not 'in the mood' to socialise outside our home and do-then we can STILL feel isolated--in fact even amongst the largest crowd! And-as has already been said-there's the internet-telephones and good old letter writing! Home learning--all sorts of stuff available! So very many lovely and learned people here on blogit--I wonder-(forgive me for speaking out)-if possibly you are lacking in confidence? God bless-Chris.

Good question. I think isolation is bad from a marketing point of view.
But from a creative point of view it need not be. After all, we all do interact from time to time as we go outside, and we have memories we can draw on and embellish, and these days more than ever we can derive inspiration not just from books or TV or film but from the Internet. The imagination should be helped by peace and quiet, in fact. I'd advise you to make the most of it. if you ever find yourself back in a full time family home, you'll miss the opportunities for reading, thinking and writing!

hmm..
..that's an interesting question... I find myself alone in my flat most of the time, too - I feel like I prefer it that way though.. sometimes I wonder if it does make you bitter or something in the end.. I'm not sure. I think I have quite a lot of interaction with interesting/intelligent people online.. that really does make a difference to me. I think without that, it'd be completely different.
