- Go to On Campus Versus Distance Learning
Re: katzs
You are right, Tattered knight. Most distance learning lack the quality you mentioned but the improvements are coming up. They have the VCD of lectures being tapped up and online tutoring where questions can be asked and get response within 3 days. I think the biggest advantage, is that it trained one to be resourceful and independent. These skills are extremely useful for managers. The success of the programs depends to a large extend on the support given by the University.

Re: k
Yes, Jacenta, the on campus course are twice as much in fees and in some cases, 4 times more. We feel that is getting beyond the means of a lot of people.

Self paced, unable to ask questions without waiting for a response or having to call. Seems like it would lack the same quality that one would get from a classroom setting

On campus learning is extremely expensive. I hope to earn my last nine credit hours for my Bachelor's Degree through distance Learning.

You need time to care for the kids if they are being home schooled.

Re: Katzs
Yes, that is very true, Soul Builder101. It takes time to change but all employers want performance from their employees. I am educating them to think away from the old ways.

I think that online degrees etc are not as eagerly accepted as the old way, by employers!
