Good questions. I want to believe in the innate goodness of most people but a lot of times it is overshadowed by innate self-centeredness. If we were all in the same boat and trappings were unnattainable, maybe, just maybe the innate goodness would take over... AmMused

...it's pretty amazing but, when one is forced to do without everything except the most basic necessities, one finds that one does not want much of more....it is all too restrictive, demanding, life draining....freedom from 'things' is liberating.....freedom from desire the ultimate liberation.....Moon

That is reality. But if you want to escape all these, just forget about your desire but just live a simple life like what soul_builder is seeking.
