Hope you're doing fine, Morney.
I could read this over and over and over.

I think this is a masterpiece.
You might have just channeled a little Sylvia for this piece. This poem really hits hard against the grain, the shame that's thrust upon women for doing anything but making babies...this was a fabulous read.

Haunting and visceral, Morney. And VERY Plath.
Your influences seep out in the juxtapositions and the cutting choices.

Thank you :) Yes.. is a personal story to some extent, though not all entirely what actually happened.

Thank you :) Unfortunately not completely fiction, sort of a mixture of fiction and non-fiction... but being able to write poems about the bad things that happen always makes me feel better.. turning something negative into something positive, I guess :)

Opheliablue,
Extremely vivid. I only hope for your sake that this is entirely fiction. I loved the image of womb as abbatoir. Brr.

Wow is right! If that's your personal story, it's a very sad one and you told it with heart and passion.
