I also love homes on stilts. Just come back from the hills in northern India and many of the homes are like this. On the ground floor they tend to keep animal and feed. This keeps the house warm. It's a great tradition!

It would be cool to live in one of those! Except it wouldn't be a good idea to build one here! The 120 kph winds and the 10 mt waves would destroy it in no time!
