The Dave controversy
Offy,
You have probably looked into Blogit's policies a great deal more than I have, but if posting consecutive numbers is considered spamming, are there other pitfalls we could all fall into, without knowing that rules were even being broken? It sounds as though the people that make the decision to throw out someone from the community, just DID it with no warnings, and no appeal process. I too, wish that the furor never happened and will die down soon. I'll miss any good writer and reader that gets banned and Dave was both. I hope he finds a new venue for his self-expression.
The loss of Strat's unique contributions hit me hard. He never failed to entertain me and make me wish that I could have met him personally. Had we grown up in the same place, I'm sure that we would have been close friends, we both seem to have many opinions in common and he reminds me of a man from Alabama that I worked with roofing, in to 60's. His name is Dave Baldwin and his brother Truman plays or played a mean guitar. He also cracked me up, regularly.

I agree with you. I leave for personal reasons. I understand and feel no bad about anybody who want to stay. it's my choice and now if anybody wnat to keep in touch with me out of blogit can do. Als read my skits in the future. It's just I think this not the place for me after all.
But I wish good luck to all of you and write many good things.

This is such a good post. I agree with you. I am paid up for almost another year. I will go with that. But I am exploring a lot of other places because I am tired of peddling backward the chain keeps getting a snag.

That's right, Troosha......I keep reading how all of Blogit wants this and all of Blogit wants that........I see no reason to make such an assumption, frankly it doesn't appear to be more than 10-15 at the most carrying on about this.....I am sorry that this happened to .dave......but it is getting very distracting, to say the least.

Although I'm not impressed with how Blogit handled the Dave thing, I'm with you. There's been far to much drama going on. People achieving notoriety by posting post after post about the "drama" defeats the purpose of an interactive writing site. Let's get writing people!

You can think this way. Of course I know that my departure will change nothing. For them. But for me it will. I mean I can not like Blogit anymore. To stya would be like to stay with a spouse who beat you severly and several times.
The joy gone. I came her for readers and feedback and found great joy. But the joy is gone with .Dave, and with Blogit shameful behavior. From now on I would feel like in a working place you hate. So I will leave blogit for my own sake, because I'm not comfortable here. IU will keep in touch with my friends here via email, or on other sites.

I have not closely followed the posts or Community comments but I know there's been quite the outpouring (almost to the point of distracting some from the writing they came here to do). I am disappointed in Blogit's seemingly unilateral thinking or interpretation of how Dave might have violated their rules and guidelines. It seems they have missed the point that many of us not only view this as a writing site but also a community. Their stance has essentially dismissed that aspect of the site. But I agree with you - leaving won't accomplish anything. In fact, it will go completely unnoticed by Blogit.

Offy, very good. We can do this by continuing to write. I also miss .Dave., and support everyone that's protesting in their own way--but lets not forget there are many more writers on this site that would like to be read...new writers that deserve some attention.
I'm not thrilled with the decision, and count Dave Cryer as a friend. I will, however, continue to write on this site, as it offers a unique experience for writers to hone their skills and find their voices.
