A beautiful poem! And your remarks on translation are so apt! The difficulties with translation increase almost 'exponentially' as you move from a purely technical text through prose to poetry. I think poetry
always involves a
re-creation!

Lovely poem, thanks for translating. I love your choice of poets.
Wouldn't a volume of his work bridge many misconceptions westerners have about Arab culture? At least among poets, which is of course the beating heart of a culture. Perhaps when you return from your journey... :)pat
