We are being spared this storm, and for that I am grateful. Merry Christmas to you, too.

Offy....Now Sally You can say 'Merry Christmas' to me any time you want too
It's much easier to say than standing there asking yourself "Should I or Shouldn't I" Besides, if political correctness begins to take precedence over the issue of spreading cheer and well wishes then I would have to resort to ol'Ebeneezer's outlook on everything. merry Christmas to you too, Sally Peace∞IR

Hi Offy
People should be happy that you are wishing them well and not get so hung up on idiosyncrasies.

LOL...I wish more people in the world could learn to tolerate other's religions, sweet one. I'm Jewish too, but I've never practised the religion because I was raised by a Christian mother. I do like the idea of lighting candles for Shabbat and Hanukkah, and I also have a Jewish Bible, but on the whole, I don't maintain strict observences of the religion.

Offy,
When did it become an offending gesture to wish someone a "Merry Christmas"? If a person wishes me a "Happy Hanukka" I accept it in the spirit of the moment and simply return the gesture. I will take this moment to wish you a Merry Christmas and many more! I know there will be no "coal" in your stockings.
Love,
GlennB

Funny you should mention this. I did this very thing just yesterday. The moment "Merry Christmas" left my lips I some how knew in my heart the person I was saying it to was probably Jewish (we had never discussed it). To recover from my blunder I immediately said "... that is if you celebrate Christmas". She said no but they celebrate the holidays so I quickly changed my farewell to Happy Holidays. She didn't seem offended but then she's a classy lady. I suppose it happens more frequently than we realize. If we know we're not going to see or speak to someone before Christmas we automatically wish them a Merry Christmas. I think most people probably take it in stride and recognize it as a gesture of kindness.

Sally....
I hope I have friends that are thick-skinned enough to not be offended...'cause it's gonna be "Merry Christmas" rolling off my tongue.
It's the intent not the mere words alone...it is given in the spirit of goodness and should be accepted as such...........
