I'd like to think I'm like that as well, Azur, but around 7 p.m. everyday I
start jonesin' for news or a CSI rerun or something. Inevitably, something asinine gets bracketed in the box and we start sparring (most of the time its just verbal. So far, it has not answered back. I dread that day...)...

Saul - Merry Christmas
I exercise my right to a dictatorship over my TV. It sits silently in its corner
and is only allowed out at a time of my choosing.

Saul, I hurt my back recently when I crossed over from idiot boxing to
idiot wrestling. Since that idea proved to be painful, I wanted to try my hand at TV Baseball. My son stopped me before I could knocki CNN into left field and the television out of the ball park. LOL

Thanks, eyeshaveears. Seriously, though, I have never touched my
TV in a hostile manner. I actually follow what these other guys suggested -- use the remote to turn the damned thing off. However, there are times when throwing something at it or smacking it around a bit does cross my mind.

You're right, the charges they charge for repair these days, you may as well get a new set with a guarantee. If your set stands up to all that boxing, well that backs up the good old saying "They don't build things like they use to" . Take care.

Thanks, eyeshaveears, but have you taken a TV to the repair shop lately?
Might as well buy a new one. I'm not that enamored with my set... which is apparent by my 'boxing' it.

I laughed throughout this read, what a way to look at it, "Idiot boxing", the termilogy fits too . . Lets just hope if you do administer a TKO the damage won't be too severe, just a quick trip to the repair shop and not a case of R.I.P to your TV set. A serious but amusing read, thanks. Take care.

I couldn't do that, mysteria. I have kids and I need a cheap babysitter.
Not to mention that every now and then there is a good crime drama on (I'm a Law & Order and CSI nut...). But I can whack it a couple times in passing when good ol' George W. gets on there hee-hawing around...

Here's a secret: there is a place on the TV where it says "Power"
Punch it there and it will be down till you can find the remote.
A few roses
