Bless you, hon, and your response was precious:). I will definitely read your blog and that is so true about imprisoning an intelligent creature. But you know something, so many creatures are intelligent but we can't know how much until we evaluate their intelligence. Maybe our way to evaluate needs to be more humane so the creatures won't feel so imprisoned. I love dolphins and whales and believe whales may hold secrets to the universe that we can't even understand. It hurts me to the core to see them destroyed for any reason:(

The dolphins were let go because Lilly realized it is wrong to
imprison another intelligent creature purely for one's own curiosity.
You asked the title of the blog, and I hared off in all directions without actually answering... It is the one called How the Universe Looks From Here and it starts here: http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Ciel2752/s320

Re: The whole blog consists of pieces of that puzzle--
Thanks again. I will definitely check out the books you recommended because I'm anxious to learn why the dolphins were let go:). Bless you!

The whole blog consists of pieces of that puzzle--
the balancing of body with spirit underlies all that I posted for the first couple of years. Then I reduced my blog presence to 1 for a while, and it became a bit more generalized. Now I maintain 3, and most of my personal stuff that is not photography-related so much goes into that one.

Now that makes good sense to me. Specifically, can you name your previous blogs that relate to mind/body connections? I would love to read them and thank you for the info.

The first book I read that got me really excited
and clued me in that I was not alone in the Universe I perceived, was John C Lilly's THE CENTER OF THE CYCLONE. It was written in the 60s, about his exploration of the super-consciousness. Before that, he was a leading researcher in the field of communication with dolphins. Then one day he decided it was wrong to make them lab subjects, and to the consternation of his team and colleagues, he simply let the dolphins all go from his Caribbean laboratory.
More recently--written in the 90s--is one I have recommended before, called THE HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE by Michael (I think) Talbot. This one updates theories of the nature of the universe, makes some sense of quantum theory, which is truly all about how matter and energy relate.
If you do go back through my blog, there are other references there, and explanations of how--according to how things seem to be to me--the healthy relationship of body and spirit, matter and energy. I agree with you, it is a fascinating field, and vital to understanding our nature as beings that are human, and our relationships with others, with the universe, with the divine and with good and evil... everything, really!
As long as body and spirit are warring with each other, or perceived to be at war, we cannot become all that we are!

I would need direction from a source to even know which way to even go to find out about mind and body cohesiveness. I don't have a clue. Are there other books that you have encountered that gave you a running start?

I have written on this topic for a couple of years now,
in my Universe blog. I haven't read Deepak Chopra's books-- I've always wanted to sort out stuff with my own senses and models before adopting someone else's, so I have tended to pick up bits and pieces, not to take on anyone else's vision or interpretation wholesale. The times I have done that, I have always found myself following for a while without thinking on my own, without questioning appropriately, getting distracted by personality, emotional reaction, that sort of thing.
My blog is about what I have come up with, putting it here to be helpful to others walking the path, like signposts, more than giving directions that must or even should be followed. Well, there are some strong recommendations... grounding and centering, f'rinstance...
Anyway, it is there to explore...

You can definitely go on and on and on...
...as far as I'm concerned. I'm very interested in this concept and thank you Bhaskar.

Deepak Chopra's books and talks are very illuminating and are life-assertive simple techniques.
Body is gross mind and mind is subtle body. This interchangeablity is there because both body and mind are matter. Matter can be transformed into its more and more sublime state. And this is done by making it a bridge between the body and soul, between matter and spirit. This bridge also acts as the very barrier in realizing the timelessness of our being. The mind comes out of the past, but Consciousness (Intelligent Design, ID) is never out of the past. Mind is Time. Consciousness is Eternity. Why? Mind moves from one moment to another on a horizontal plane. Consciousness is vertical; it does not come from the past, it does not go into the future. This moment it falls vertically in the depth, or it rises vertically into the height. I must stop before i go on and on.

Thank you so much. Maybe I'll read both. From listening to Chopra this morning, he really seems like he knows what he's talking about. That's all.

Nope, I don't know why I steer clear of Chopra but I have and do. My mother swears by him (pun...sort of). Anyway The connection between mind and body are one and the same, body and mind, mind and body respond and react off of one another. I am reading 'Eat, Pray and Love' and I think it is a simpler form of understanding the connection there, not to mention a delicious read.

"Ageless Body, Timeless Mind"..excellent book..had a positive impact
on my life..for someone to call it "crap", especially in a public forum like this, shows either ignorance or arrogance or both..sorry friends, this is the first time I've publicly shown my annoyance at some of the comments here..but so be it ! - Ash

And what is that, Zenmom?
I don't remember reading or hearing anything about mind and body connections before. Have I been missing something? Or is this information somewhere else? Please advise. Thank you.
