I'm very familiar with that old library too. That's where I used to go to do my homework. I do believe I'm more familiar with that mean old aunt you spoke of than you are. Hey, girl, we both got through it, didn't we? xoxoxo

I love books, and have a few myself. Libraries, especially the older ones, are awe-inspiring and far more enticing to me than churches, and yes, also because of the odd memory of 'love in the stacks'...

I too looove the smell of books, new and old. Way back in 'the day' at the beginning of each new year school children were handed out new books for the year. I remember opening the books, inhaling the smell of the new ink on each page, creasing each page back carefully. A wonderful memory. My father has a library in his home, the home I grew up in and as a historian, you can imagine the wondrous smells of the massive collections he has. He's recently donated over 2 thousand books to the Cal State Fullerton and the Hunington Library, none the less he still has walls and walls of books that I finger and smell each time I return home for a visit. Loved this post
